WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE
OF THE 23RD ASIA PACIFIC ORTHOPAEDIC
ASSOCIATION CONGRESS!

The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Congress held every three years from 1962 to 2010, transitioned to a biennial event from 2012 to 2024. Last year was the last to be biennial in nature.

The APOA welcomes you to its 23rd Congress, to be held physically in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the theme: “60 Years of the APOA: Trailblazing Orthopedics Through Diversity and Synergy”.

With 4 pre-congress workshops taking place on 28th February, followed by the 23rd APOA Congress from 29 February – 02 March, for full three days you will be treated to a program that aims to provide participants with extensive and relevant orthopedic information, emanating from, and pertaining to the vast 24-country-membership of the APOA. Guests and friends of the APOA have also generously contributed time and talent to ensure a worthwhile learning experience, despite the continuing challenges brought by the worldwide pandemic.

Join us as we journey with you through the intricacies of our specialty, reflecting on where we all began, where we have reached, and where we are all headed.

Let’s fly to greater heights together in 2024!

MESSAGE FROM THE APOA PRESIDENT

Dear APOA Members and Friends,

On behalf of the APOA Executive Committee and the APOA Council, it is my honour to invite you to the 23rd Congress of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association which is scheduled to be held from Feb 29 – March 2, 2024 in the vibrant city of Dubai, UAE.

Beautiful beaches, record breaking attractions and experiences like no other – Dubai is the place to be in 2024. It’s no wonder Dubai has been named Tripadvisor’s #1 most popular destination in the World for the second year running. So come to Dubai and explore all that it has to offer.

The meeting will be held at the beautiful Dubai Festival City on Dubai Creek. Overlooking the serene waters of the creek and iconic Dubai skyline, it holds a special place in the heart of North Dubai. It is accessible via multiple roadways, public transport and special water taxi stops on the iconic Dubai creek. The integrated complex houses the convention center, three luxury hotels, a shopping mall with over 400 stores, more than 100 restaurants and cafes, and a food court with 1000 seating capacity, the largest in Dubai.

I am sure that under the able stewardship of the Congress President, Dr Saeed Al Thani, Scientific Chair Dr Jamal Ashraf and the entire organising team, the Congress will be a roaring success. Here I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr Ali Al Suwaidi, President of the Emirates Orthopaedic Association for his continued support to the APOA and its activities.

This scientific extravaganza is not to be missed as it will cover a diverse range of topics on all orthopaedic sub-specialities. The Organising Committee has gathered a team of experts from around the world to speak at the meeting. The Congress will be preceded by hands-on workshop and Speciality Day program on Feb 28, 2024 and will cover a range of topics to be delivered by international experts in their respective fields. Our committee has worked hard to prepare a unique and exciting selection of topics within the different sub-specialities. The lectures and symposia will provide all delegates with information that is most relevant on the international orthopaedic stage.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at the Meeting – you will be glad that you came to enjoy the scientific and cultural extravaganza, local cuisine, shopping and the warm Emirati hospitality.

MESSAGE FROM THE 23rd APOA CONGRESS PRESIDENT

Marhaba! Welcome friends and colleagues from the Asia Pacific region! It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 23rd Congress of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association – APOA 2024, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 29th February to 2nd March 2024, with 4 pre-congress workshops taking place on 28th February 2024.

Our theme sheds light on the long history of the APOA, as well as the evolution and improvement of orthopaedic care throughout the decades. As such, the Scientific Committee has been hard at work to highlight orthopedic practices across our colorful region, emphasizing creative methods all aimed at improving our craft. Our local subspecialty societies have been joining forces with all Subspecialty Sections of the APOA to produce collaborative programs that promise to keep you all glued to your screens throughout the three-day event. We are proud to have several orthopaedic luminaries from a variety of specialties who, as plenary speakers, will be sharing their wisdom and experience for all to benefit from. Our program will also witness key movements in APOA leadership, as we transition hopefully out of the pandemic.

In addition, an exhibition at the 23rd APOA 2024 will feature many of the world’s leading sponsors & exhibitors, a display of the latest equipment & technology that will give attendees the chance to experience the latest orthopaedic medical devices & technologies.

We hope to enjoy your presence and we hope that this 23rd Congress serves as a venue for your continuing growth be it within or outside of orthopedics. Our Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association continues to grow stronger through our shared pursuits and common undertakings. Let us all continue to work together in unity and harmony!

We look forward to welcoming you to the 23rd Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association Congress 2024.
